Lord, in your kindness, hear our petitions. You called Andrew the apostle to preach the gospel and guide your Church in faith. May he always be our friend in your presence to help us with his prayers.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever
and ever. Amen.
from the Mass of Saint Andrew
(It is piously believed that whoever recites the following prayer fifteen times a day from the feast of St. Andrew, November 30, until Christmas will obtain what is asked. Imprimatur: Michael Augustine, Archbishop of NY.)
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
